Gian is profoundly passionate in pursuing higher learning and empowering migrant Filipino workers. Being the son of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), he shares a personal understanding of the challenges and aspirations faced by Filipinos abroad, fueling his commitment to help them realize their dreams.

Gian completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at De La Salle University Manila (cum laude) and his Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo Law School. He was awarded a full scholarship to pursue his Master of Laws in Comparative Constitutional Law in Central European University (Hungary), and received other funding to complete a Master of Business in Global Management and Marketing at Lincoln University (NZ), Masters in Public Policy at the University of Auckland (NZ), Graduate Certificate in Law at Victoria University of Wellington (NZ).

He has worked in various senior advisory positions for the New Zealand government such as the Commerce Commission, Ministry of Education, Environmental Protection Authority and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

He speaks fluent Tagalog and English (obtained an 8 in IELTS) and has conversational proficiency in Spanish.
